The West Midlands Police Immersive Learning Suite is situated on the first floor of the force Learning & Development facility in central Birmingham and has been dedicated to the memory of the late Chief Inspector Fiona Irving who was a champion of immersive learning in the West Midlands.
The suite is able to provide a range of Hydra and Minerva based exercises and has been used by delegates from both the UK and abroad. The suite has four large air-conditioned syndicate rooms each capable of seating five delegates in comfort and a dedicated plenary classroom. The control room has positions for two course directors and four subject matter experts but also provides portable audio monitoring of all syndicate rooms and the plenary room.
Course facilitators may also have access to the facilities of the adjacent purpose built television studio where media staff can send live feeds directly into the syndicate rooms via an additional wall mounted monitor, or into the plenary room as necessary.
