Gwent Police: listening to staff through 10kV

A published account from 2024

Gwent Police's contribution to the 2024 Gender Equality in UK Policing report describes its work with the University of South Wales and the Hydra Foundation to explore organisational culture through 10,000 Volts debriefing.

Making space for staff perspectives

The report records an event involving 60 officers and staff, facilitated by the Chief Constable. Anonymous contributions enabled participants to discuss experiences and concerns about workplace culture.

From discussion to organisational learning

The University of South Wales analysed the findings, which were considered alongside employee and public opinion surveys. Gwent reports that this work informed its culture strategy. This is an example of debriefing contributing to a wider programme of organisational change.
